CSUSM Launches its Meeting & Event Planning Certificate Program at the Temecula Campus and Hosts a Free Open House

Temecula, California, January 13, 2010 – On January 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) Extended Learning will be hosting a free Open House for its Meeting and Event Planning Certificate program. The Open House will serve as a kick-off for the Certificate, which will be held this spring for the first time at the new CSUSM Temecula campus (located at 43890 Margarita Road, Temecula, CA 92592).

Lisa English, CMP, CMM, program advisor for the Temecula Meeting & Event Planning Certificate program through CSUSM, and Marketing Manager for Strategic Meetings Management at Cvent, says the program is in high demand.

Focusing on the planner's practical "need to know" tools and skills and under the guidance of some of the area’s top planning professionals, the program is designed to give program participants a solid understanding of the myriad of details and behind-the-scenes considerations involved in planning successful meetings and events. Course topics include: Meeting and Event Planning Fundamentals, Successful Logistical Planning, Food and Beverage Essentials, Legal Issues, Finance and Budgeting Essentials, Communication Skills, Wedding Planning, Independent Meeting Planner, AV Behind the Scenes, Global Meeting Management, Special Events and Unique Venues, Event Marketing, and Trade Show Management.
