How To Apply
All prospective students are required to submit a Program Application. Submission of the Program Application will allow the School of Nursing and Extended Learning to provide each prospective student with an educational plan for program acceptance. Each applicant will receive an individualized advising worksheet showing course requirements completed and outstanding requirements that need to be met.
Once you submitted the application on line, you will receive a prompt to pay the non-refundable $50 Application Fee. You should receive both an email confirming your application submission and your payment.
Note: Should you be offered admission into this program, you will be asked to pay a $250 "intent to enroll" fee upon acceptance. This fee will be credited towards your first semester's fees.
Official, hard copy transcripts should be sent to:
California State University San Marcos

Admission Deadlines
Applications are now being accepted for the Fall 2013 cohort. The Program Application and official, hard copy transcripts may be submitted anytime and are accepted on a rolling-basis. Evaluations will be completed as Pre-Admission Advising Applications and official, hard copy transcripts are received.
Background Check
Students admitted to the cohort will be required to complete a background check including, statewide, county, and federal screening before placement in a healthcare agency for clinical assignment. Background checks are required of all individuals seeking a nursing license in the State of California. Students who have reason to believe that a background check would reveal a prior misdemeanor or felony should seek to have these matters expunged from their record if possible.
Application to the University
Students admitted to the Post MSN certificate program will be required to submit an admission application to CSUSM through CSU Mentor along with a non-refundable $55 fee (in U.S. funds). The fee may not be transferred to another term or another CSU campus. The fee is required for each campus to which you apply. NOTE: DO NOT APPLY TO THE UNIVERSITY UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED TO THE Post MSN certificate PROGRAM!
