Project Management "The Course"
Project management is an evolving profession, and employers are increasingly requiring that their project managers be certified. This course (TheCourse™) was developed and is conducted by a Registered Education Provider of the Project Management Institute (PMI®). It is registered with PMI as a 56-hour course, surpassing their 35-hour requirement, and pre-approved by PMI to prepare students for certification as Project Management Professionals (PMP®). TheCourse teaches the core competencies of project management. It covers the five process groups and nine knowledge areas of PMBOK, the PMP code of ethics and professional conduct, and a review of general management topics that are on the PMP examination.
This course is currently open for registration as an online program and will also be offered at the CSUSM campus this Fall!
Project Managment "The Course" Certification Preparation Online
TheCourse online is multi-media, comprised of approximately 650 web pages with voice plus numerous related linked papers. It consists of 16 segments following TheCourse outline. It can be started at any time and taken at the student's pace, so long as it is completed within six months. Each online student will download TheTest. It will be used to answer questions that follow most segments, to browse upwards of 500 questions and answers, and to emulate the actual timed certification examination. System requirements: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6, Netscape version 7 or Mozilla Firefox 1.0 or later. TheTest has been tested on every variation of Microsoft Operating Systems.
Course materials: PMI's Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge 4 1/2 Edition (PMBOK®), workbooks tailored for the course, and TheTest™, a Test Engine containing 500 exam-like questions, to download and use on your own computer.
