Instructor Bios

Maribeth Bandas

MARIBETH BANDAS has over 20 years of translation and university language instruction experience. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree and Certificate in Translation from Georgetown University, Master’s Degree in Ibero and Latin American Studies from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a Master’s in Philosophy from The George Washington University. She is co-founder and Vice President of BEAM Translation and Media Corporation, located in Carlsbad, CA. Ms. Bandas has held the position of Translator at the Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs in Washington, D.C. In this capacity she supported the District of Columbia government agencies’ compliance with the Language Access Act of 2004. Ms. Bandas is licensed to train bilingual individuals to become qualified interpreters through Cross-Cultural Communications and was personally trained by Marjory Bancroft, founder of Cross-Cultural Communications (CCC), a national and international leader in the field of community interpreting.
