Emotional Intelligence
One emotional outburst or one unresolved conflict can destroy your career. In recent years, researchers have discovered a type of intelligence that is twice as important as IQ and cognitive ability combined in determining professional success. It is called emotional intelligence or EQ and today, 90% of the most successful CEO’s have it and managers who have it exceed yearly by 20%! Emotional intelligence is the ability to simultaneously manage one’s own emotions and the emotions of others in a way that not only reduces emotional outbursts and conflict but also creates positive and productive outcomes.
This new series will teach you how to identify the root cause of destructive emotions and how to spot them. You will also learn and practice techniques to manage and resolve unwanted emotions in a way that sets you and your employees up for future success!

Now that you have the ability to identify your thoughts and emotions and understand their impact on your behavior and other’s perception of you, take the next step. Learn to diffuse the impact challenging situations and people on you and your career. Manage and minimize your responses in the midst of stressful encounters. In this course you will learn the impact of stress on your thoughts, feelings and behavior and develop five techniques to safely defuse frustration when it is getting the best of you. Emotional Intelligence: Social Competence
Those who lead and influence well know that the most positive and productive outcomes are the result of all parties feeling heard and understood. In this course you will focus on learning to hear and understand the thoughts, emotions and behaviors of others. The ability to put yourself in another person’s shoes is known as empathy, and it is key in building effective relationships. You will assess your listening skills, learn the questions that reveal the real motives and needs of others and identify the filters that are impacting the perception of those you would like to influence.<back to top>
Emotional Intelligence: Social Management*
Would you like to be able to have the hard conversation, improve relationships and motivate others to change? You can! In this final course, you will use all the previous levels of emotional intelligence as you learn to positively build consensus, motivate and inspire others to plan and achieve goals. Address each unique conversation with an understanding of where to focus your attention – the goal, the relationship, or both. Learn the three goals of effective corrective feedback or clarifying conversations and how to have the hard conversations in way that results in positive and productive outcomes.<back to top>
