Managing Invisible Diversity Conflicts
Too often managers and supervisors find themselves ill-equipped to handle challenges and conflicts that center on invisible diversity issues, such as sexual orientation, religious and political affiliation, age, marital and parental status, and personality. Failing to address these challenges often results in molehills turning into mountains that can derail work, performance and sometimes careers. The key to successfully handling these issues lies in developing cultural competence and diversity coaching skills. This class will introduce supervisors to their responsibility and role in managing a variety of issues related to a diverse workforce.
Workplace Applications:
- Recognize the difference between cultural competence and diversity coaching
- Identify, assess and address underlying diversity conflicts
- Recognize the impact of these conflicts on the bottom line
- Essential Meditation Skills
This is a core class in the Supervising Employees Certificate.
