Emotional Intelligence: Bridge the Barriers that Negative Emotions Create
One emotional outburst or one unresolved conflict can destroy your career. In recent years, researchers have discovered a type of intelligence that is twice as important as IQ and cognitive ability combined in determining professional success. It is called emotional intelligence or EQ, and today, 90 percent of the most successful CEOs have it. Emotional intelligence is the ability to simultaneously manage one’s own emotions and the emotions of others in a way that not only reduces emotional outbursts and conflict; it creates positive and productive outcomes. In this course, you will learn the root of destructive emotions and how to spot them. You will also learn and practice techniques to manage and resolve unwanted emotions in a way that sets you and your employees up for future success.
Workplace applications:
- Define emotional intelligence and understand its impact on the job
- Assess your level of emotional intelligence
- Identify the thoughts and feelings that negatively impact you
- Recognize your personal triggers, discover their origins and effect on the job
- Manage the emotions and change the thoughts that hinder conflict resolutions
