The Strategic Role of Human Resources
This capstone course builds on and integrates all of the program courses and provides strategies for and skills needed to position HR as a strategic partner in the organization. Discussions and projects will focus on measuring HR’s overall effectiveness in implementing initiatives such as change management, restructuring options, and development of core competencies of a successful senior level HR professional.
Workplace Applications:
- Developing the skills needed to become a strategic partner
- Confidently conducting and participating in strategic planning meetings
- Addressing the challenges and strategies for managing a change initiative
- Gaining knowledge of various organizational structures and key employee competencies
- Developing a career plan
This is a core course in the Human Resources Certificate Program.
Pre requisite: Successful completion of all other courses in the HR Certificate program. Exceptions will only be approved by the program Director or Advisor.
