Event Catering Management
The Event Catering Management course is designed to meet the needs of the event manager who represents the client, and is responsible for choosing a caterer. Topics include identifying food and beverage expectations , choosing the right caterer, understanding on and off premise catering contracts, selecting a menu, and integrating the food and beverage aspect into the total event experience.

Design-Inspired Meetings & Events
Great design is all around us, which makes it even more important to incorporate strategies for design excellence into each meeting and event. This session will incorporate the use of space, balance, color, environment, planning, and organization as it pertains to artful design. Learn the key benefits of research, beginning with the first client interview, for creating a truly signature design. Explore available and unexpected resource avenues for distinctive and surprising inspirations. Discover how seasons and trends create extraordinary design impact for any event. Realize that take-your-breath-away design does not necessarily involve great cost. Appreciate and consider the people who will participate in the meeting or event by making them a design aspect. Return home with a new eye for design.

Booths and Drayage and Exhibitors, oh my! Navigating the Tradeshow Jungle!
This class is an introduction to tradeshow management, whether an exhibit floor is just a part of your event or the focus of your event. You will learn the basic tools to communicating with your exhibitors from the exhibitor prospectus to the exhibitor service manual. You will also learn what an exhibitor service contractor is and how they are there to help you with everything from understanding booth configurations to drayage and shipping. This class will also focus on the challenges and rewards of this specialized area of meeting planning.

Site Selection for Meeting and Event Planners
One of the most important elements of any meeting or event is the location or venue in which it is held. This informative and fun class will give you an overview of the basics of conference site selection including:
- Evaluating Your Clients’ Needs – Who, What, When, Why and Where
- The Request for Proposal (RFP) Process
- Negotiation Strategies
- Contracts
You’ll leave this class with knowledge you can use in hotel or other venue site selection and what the basic clauses are you should have in every contract.
