Composing in the Electronic Music Studio

Students will learn how to operate various types of music software including Pro Tools and Native Instruments. The focus will be on composing music with MIDI, synthesis, software instrument operation, sampling and digital signal processing. Instructor: Bob Kostlan |
Recording Engineer in the Electronic Music Studio

Students will learn how to operate various types of music hardware including the Avid C 24 mixing console. The focus will be on recording audio in Pro Tools utilizing pre-amps, microphone pick up pattern and placement techniques, along with audio editing, mixing, and mastering techniques. DIY Microphone Building and Circuit Bending Workshop

Students will learn how to construct a microphone scratch as well as circuit bending of musical electronic hardware. The first half will focus on assembling the microphones and then testing them out in the studio. The second half will focus on reconfiguring musical hardware to crare unique music effects and instruments. Instructor: Bob Kostlan |
