Advancing Interprofessional Clinical Practice Conference

Interprofessional Clinical Practice in health care occurs when health workers from different professional backgrounds join with patients, their families, caregivers and communities to deliver comprehensive high quality care. It spans clinical and non-clinical health-related work, including diagnosis, treatment, surveillance, health communications, and disease management (WHO, 2010).

Do you know how effective you are working in a truly interprofessional team environment?  Do you know how effective your team is? And, how are you leading in this new environment.  Join us for an exciting, multi-layered event with one day specifically geared to all professionals wanting to learn the most up to date “best practices” in interprofessional practice and education and to hone their own skills at working interprofessionally.  Then, on the second day, we’ll open the door to the skill of leading in this new and challenging environment.

The CSU Institute for Palliative Care is pleased to offer this unique opportunity for interprofessional teams from all health care disciplines. Our goal is to create an annual formum for both learning about best practices in interdisciplinary care provision and enhancing applied interdisciplinary functioning and leadership skills.

The Conference will take place this Fall and will include:

  • Keynote speech and breakout sessions focusing on interprofessional team skill-building
  • Discussions of clear definitions of multi-disciplinary, interdisciplinary and trandisciplinary practice
  • Presentations and posters on the latest in interprofessional education and practice
  • Tools for assessment of individual interdisciplinary practice skills and team functioning
  • Strategies for developing interprofessional team leadership skills
  • Highlights of best practices

A call for posters and 15 minute presentations will be issued shortly.
