AP* Biology

Instructor: Jo Ann Lane
Instructor Bio:
I am retired after 36 years of teaching in both public and private high schools in the Cleveland, Ohio area. I taught the last 25 years at St. Ignatius High School, an all-male college preparatory school, where I taught mostly Biology and AP* Biology. I was department chair the last ten years, and involved with the complete remodeling of our science building into a state-of-the-art facility. In addition to teaching high school students, I have enjoyed teaching the next generation of Biology teachers as a mentor teacher to four interns. In the last seven years I taught as a lead teacher for the Satellite Evolution and Nature of Science Institutes in the summers of 1993-1996, and as an AP* Biology consultant for the College Board since 1997. As a consultant, I have taught many one day workshops and summer institutes and am excited about teaching this year’s summer institute which will prepare teachers for the new AP* Biology curriculum.
