Join the Campus CERT Program!!
CERT stands for "Community Emergency Response Team"
It's FREE and will provide campus staff & faculty with important disaster training!!!
CERT instruction is provided during a ten (10) week hands-on training program. Classes will be offered on consecutive Friday mornings from 8:30am-11:00am. Classes begin January 27, 2012 at the campus Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

Why become CERTified? How do CERT Members Help?
- Help reduce injuries, loss of life and property damage in the event of a disaster
- Learn first response capabilities and be able to canvass assigned areas, extinguish small fires, assess damage, turn off natural gas inlets, perform search and rescue triage, determine the need for supplies, and render basic medical treatment
- Provide life saving skills to give critical support until help arrives
- When emergency personnel do arrive, CERT members provide responders with support at the disaster site.
- Help to pass along skills to others and to create community awareness
CERT graduates will be supplied with a CERT backpack, containing basic equipment and supplies:

CERT members play an important role in campus community safety!
