What started in 2008 as a joint effort between AAFSA and the Office of Diversity to improve the retention and promotion for African American faculty and staff on campus, the University Leadership Conference has evolved into a collaborative endeavor with the four Faculty Staff Associations, Office of Diversity, Educational Equity and Inclusion, and Student Life and Leadership. The purpose of the conference is to offer professional development to underrepresented faculty/staff by discussing strategies for career advancement and sharing insights on how to navigate the unique challenges that people of color and other underrepresented groups might encounter in the workplace.
