Students at California State University, San Marcos must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) to receive student financial aid. Satisfactory Academic Progress is reviewed, in general, at the end of each spring semester.

In addition, students enrolled in summer courses are reevaluated after summer grades are available.

Students with no previous CSUSM academic history are considered to be in good academic standing until completion of coursework is reviewed at their first evaluation period.
