California State University San Marcos' School of Nursing seeks a part-time lecturer for the Undergraduate Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing lecture and/or lab in the BSN and Accelerated BSN program. The theory and clinical course addresses psychiatric mental health nursing care across the lifespan in acute inpatient, urgent care and outpatient settings with various cultural/ethnic groups. The course introduces students to the major psychiatric disorders, application of the nursing process in providing therapeutic nursing care to acute and chronic psychiatric and mental health patients, therapeutic communication skills and principals of health promotion.
Minimum qualifications for the position include: An earned Master's Degree in Nursing is preferred and applicants with a BSN currently working in direct patient care may apply. Applicants must have state licensure by the California Board of Registered Nursing and be approved to teach this course.
Timeline: Applications may be reviewed as early as November 1, 2013, however, the position will remain open until filled.
An offer of employment shall be contingent upon successful completion of a background check per the San Diego Nursing Education Consortium requirements. Should the results of a background check not be successful, any offer will be withdrawn and/or employment terminated.
