Achieving Our Vision
In 2006, Vice President Hoss set a new vision for the FAS division: "Becoming nationally recognized leaders in higher ed administration".  Listed below is an ongoing compilation of activities reported by our departments in an effort to achieve our vision.

Virtual Trophy Case
 
  • Obtained EPA's Best Workplaces for Commuters checklist. Checklist will help CSUSM determine if we qualify for this national recognition.
     

  • Presented "Measure to Manage" pre-conference workshop at the National Consortium for Continuous Improvement (NCCI) conference.
     

  • Formed a study team to prepare for National SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) Certification test in December.
     

  • Through the Workers Compensation program CSUSM has shown a 74% decrease in loss days in the fiscal year ending 6/2006 and exceeded the system wide average for timely reporting.
     

  • The LCHSE (Library Craven Hall Secondary Effects) project was the first project in the CSU to bid below budget in nearly two years.
     

  • Our campus won the national Recyclemania contest for the second year in a row!  Check out this article in the College Planning and Management magazine.
