Human Resources and Equal Opportunity

The HREO Department’s accomplishments for 2005-2006 are listed below.  During this time the HREO Department underwent several departmental changes and the staff developed and implemented a number of improved processes.  This was in addition to continuing the regular functions of the department.  The HREO Department’s main goal continued to be to support all campus divisions as they provided services to students and the entire campus community.

People:

  • Worked with the Foundation to develop new process for identifying Principle Investigators for the Conflict of Interest Code Filers
  • Conducted Imagine 21 - Phase I and Phase II training sessions for all FAS employees

Processes:

  • Conducted internal audit of Recruitment/Selection process to identify areas for improvement
  • Improved Personnel Action Notice (PAN) processing
  • Expanded self-service access points for campus customers to include enhanced leave accrual views

Campus Community:

  • Collaborated with Academic Resources to develop a procedure for hiring and processing documents for Instructional Student Assistants (ISA’s)
  • Collaborated with Financial Aid and Fiscal Operations to resolve issues regarding work study students working at Auxiliaries
  • Held the Campus Health and Wellness Resource Fair

Resources and Regulations:

  • Completed mandatory compliance training sessions for the campus community
  • Provided presentation in the College of Education working with student employees with disabilities
  • Participated with State Employee Trades Council Union (SETC) in joint training on California Public Relations Board (PERB) regulations and procedures
  • Worked with managers, deans, and employees to ensure that the campuswide Sexual Harassment training was completed by Chancellor’s Office deadline
