The Faculty Learning Community for Engaging and Instructing the 21st Century Student (FLC21)

The Faculty Learning Community for Engaging and Instructing the 21st Century Student (FLC21) will bring together a group of diverse faculty from across the campus to explore the changing landscape of higher education, effective teaching for the 21st century classroom, and the use of a variety of teaching tools. The goal of this FLC is for faculty to learn about and discuss general issues related to teaching in the 21st Century as well as specific teaching strategies (tech rich and tech free!) to enhance student engagement in the classroom and through experiential learning.

Compensation: Faculty who complete the FLC21 will be awarded $500 for professional development or a stipend.

To apply: Submit a brief proposal that indicates your interest in the FLC, any current teaching practices that you would share with the group and what you want to learn about 21st century students and learning. Your proposal should also detail what in particular you are interested in implementing in a spring course and why you are interested in redesigning course components in relation to your course goals, learning objectives and any expected outcomes.  Include department, rank, courses regularly taught and years teaching (years at CSUSM).
