The Faculty Mentoring Program (FMP) at California State University San Marcos serves to enhance the retention and graduation relates of first generation and economically disadvantaged college students. Research suggest that the most effective way we can achieve these goals is by reducing the social estrangement that many students who come from these backgrounds experience in the university.
