Orientation and Welcome Luncheon

Join FMP as we kick off spring semester with lunch on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 11:30 -1:00 pm in Commons 206. This event is a great opportunity for new protégés to meet their mentors and for returning students to meet up with mentors after the long summer break. Lunch and beverages will be provided to those who attend. The Arts and Lectures offer free events on CSUSM campus. Arts and lectures

The wonderful events offered by the CSUSM Arts and Lectures series provide a great opportunity for mentors and protégés to attend together.  The Arts and Lectures series offers free event tickets for students, but not for mentors.  Therefore, FMP has purchased some tickets for mentors for the events on Oct 3, Oct 8, Oct 10, Oct 15, and Nov 19.  Students should request their own tickets via the portal on the Arts & Lectures website www.csusm.edu/al  Mentors, please email Sonia Perez to request a ticket. Faculty Mentoring Program offers tickets for cultural events at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. Mentor-Protégé pairs are invited to request up to two tickets for particular performances. Please see Sonia Perez (fmp@csusm.edu) for available tickets.

An essential component of the FMP is to prepare students for success in graduate school. To ensure that you are the best prepared in this effort, FMP program has established a Pathway to Graduation Workshop to assist you in the process. Post-Graduate Testing Scholarship

FMP is currently accepting applications for Post-Graduate Testing Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded depending on available funds to pay for post-graduate test registration fees (i.e. but not limited to GRE, LSAT, CBEST, etc).  Scholarship is open ONLY to FMP students. The due date is Friday, November 8 , 2013.  See the link for an application.

 Exam Survival Kit

An Exam Survival Kit will be available for pick up from the Faculty Mentoring Program Office (Kellogg Library 2400) in November. This kit includes scantrons, blue books and other fun items to get you through your finals. Please be sure to set up an appointment to stop by to be sure that someone is available to assist you.

 FMP Holiday Gathering & Fall Graduation

This social gathering is another opportunity the Faculty Mentoring Program offers to both the students and faculty to come together in a “non-academic” setting to interact and network with each other. This gathering is also our opportunity to recognize those students who are graduating at the end of the fall semester.
