Professional Development Grant
The Faculty Center Professional Development Grant Program is designed to help CSUSM faculty achieve their professional goals. Grants of up to $750.00 will be awarded to support professional activities related to teaching and learning, research/ creative activities, and/or community or disciplinary service. All awards may be used as a sole source of funding or to supplement other resources (e.g., regular travel or research allowances or other funding). The three types of awards given are: Travel, Research and Teaching/Learning.
- Travel: Faculty may propose a grant to support professional development in the form of travel. Travel to a conference, workshop or symposium (to be a presenter, discussant, participation in a roundtable or panel) and travel to libraries/archives, research-related interviews, or other field-based activities have been funded in the past.
- Research: Faculty may propose a grant to support professional development in the area of research/creative activity. In the past, research-related items, including, software, CD-ROMs, books, and student assistance have been funded.
- Teaching/Learning: Faculty may propose a grant to support professional development in the area of instructional pedagogy. Participation in a teaching/learning workshop and purchase of supplies to support teaching and learning have been funded in the past.

Eligibility
All Cal State San Marcos Faculty are eligible.
**Faculty who have been awarded in the past must have submitted a PDG final report, otherwise, the current application may not be considered.

Funds
Grants of up to $750 will be awarded in the three categories: Travel, Research and Teaching/Learning. The grants funds are available for use from July 1, 2008-June 30, 2009 and projects can be retroactively funded during this time.
