Faculty Center Professional Development Grant


The Faculty Center Professional Development Grant Program is designed to help CSUSM faculty achieve their professional goals. Grants of up to $1000.00 maximum per faculty member will be awarded to support professional activities related to teaching and learning, research/creative activities, and/or community or disciplinary service. All awards may be used as a sole source of funding or to supplement other resources (e.g., regular travel or research allowances or other funding). The three types of awards given are: Travel, Research and Teaching/Learning.
  • Travel: Faculty may propose a grant to support professional development in the form of  travel. Travel to a conference, workshop or symposium (to be a presenter, discussant, moderator, facilitator) and travel to libraries/archives, research-related interviews, or other field-based activities have been funded in the past.
  • Research: Faculty may propose a grant to support professional development in the area of research/creative activity. In the past, research-related items including software, CD-ROMs, books, and student assistance have been funded.
  • Teaching/Learning: Faculty may propose a grant to support professional development in the area of instructional pedagogy. Participation in a teaching/learning workshop and purchase of supplies to support teaching and learning have been funded in the past.
