Center for Effective Leadership, Center for
Advancement of Racial and Ethnic Equity, and Office
of Women in Higher Education.
The program, featuring women of color presidents,
will provide participants with an opportunity to
explore and reflect on the most promising strategies
for the advancement of women of color into senior
administrative positions in higher education. The
opening keynote speaker will be Johnnetta B. Cole,
president of Bennett College for Women.

Tune Into ACE’s First Women of Color Summit Blog
from Long Beach, California
Beginning Tuesday, November 7th, the American
Council on Education (ACE) with generous support
from MetLife Foundation, will launch a new and
exciting feature of the Third Summit for Women of
Color Administrators in Higher Education … the
WOC Blog. Summit participants, members of
ACE’s leadership networks, and others interested in
issues faced by women of color in higher education
can log onto the WOC Blog and read about summit
activities, see panel/plenary session reviews, and
view summit photos and interviews.
WOC Blog
participants are also encouraged to post their
thoughts on interesting ideas they’ve heard or
discussions they’ve had at the summit; reactions to
comments others have made at the summit or on this
blog; or any ideas or opinions related to the
subjects discussed at the summit. The idea is for
blog participants to share their insights with a
virtual community of education leaders interested in
creating a dialogue about the future of women of
color administrators in higher education.
