How to Apply for Scholarships

Many local and national organizations offer scholarships to students regardless of their financial need. Scholarships have a wide variety of academic and other types of requirements.  Application deadlines and procedures vary.   

There are a number of scholarships administered by CSUSM. To apply for these scholarships complete the CSUSM General Scholarship Application. The application can also be obtained in the CSUSM Financial Aid and Scholarship Office.  By completing and submitting the application by the deadline, you will be automatically considered for most of the CSUSM administered scholarships which are awarded for that year.  To be considered for any "need-based" scholarships, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA. A new application must be completed each year by the scholarship application deadline of March 2nd.
