CSUSM Scholarships
Scholarships are funds awarded on a competitive basis. Awards can be based upon academic achievement, talent, financial need, or other donor interests (such as community of residence, major, career goal, etc.). The Cal State San Marcos Scholarship Office awards over twenty-five donor-sponsored scholarships that range from $100 to $7000.
Cal State San Marcos offers a one-stop-shop process for scholarships. Students complete one application and submit one essay every award year. This application and essay allows you to be considered for all twenty-five scholarships that we offer. To apply for these scholarships, complete the CSUSM General Scholarship Application.
Need-based scholarships also require the filing of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
For a detailed description of CSUSM's scholarships, click on CSUSM Scholarship Opportunities.
The Financial Aid and Scholarships Office also maintains information on external agency scholarship opportunities. Information is available in the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office in Craven Hall Room 3900. Since these external scholarship programs are administered by the awarding agency or organization, they have their own requirements, application and deadline.
