Need a Place to Live?
Whether it be at home, on your own, or with roommates we can help. The descriptions below provide only a few of the variety of options available for your housing search.
Living on Campus
Imagine living on campus - just minutes from the beautiful San Diego beaches and attractions. Take a break from studying to explore the mountains, beaches and landmarks that make Southern California famous. Make the most of your college experience by living on campus at University Village Apartments or at the Quad - San Marcos!
First time Freshman Live-On Requirement
Beginning with the Fall 2012 semester, California State University San Marcos will join a number of other CSU campuses in requiring first-time freshmen from outside of the local area to live in University or University-Affiliated Housing during their first year on a space available basis.
Living in on-campus housing promotes greater community, creating a sense of citizenship, and facilitates a positive first year experience. The on-campus living experience provides greater support in transition to university life, including participation in learning communities, involvement in student life and recreation, more access to academic resources and opportunities to build life-long friendships. Research consistently shows that students who live on campus have better grades, are more involved in campus activities, are retained in higher numbers and graduate sooner.
Eligible students will receive a financial aid award reflecting the additional costs of living on campus.
Exemptions from the requirement will be considered for students over 21 years of age; active military or veteran status; married, domestically partnered, and/or with legally dependent children; independent student status; medical and disability circumstances, or other special circumstances which create substantial personal hardship.
