Maryann Edwards

Maryann Edwards brings more than 25 years of Riverside County public service experience to the CSUSM Foundation Board. She has served the residents of Temecula as Public Traffic/Safety Commissioner, Temecula Valley Unified School District Governing Board Member, City Council  Member and Mayor in 2009 and 2014.  Currently serving her 10th year on the city council, Council Member Edwards played an integral role in the 2008 opening of CSUSM’s original Temecula campus as well as the newest location that will be shared by CSUSM and Mt. San Jacinto Community College. Among her many public and community responsibilities, Council Member Edwards also serves as Director, Riverside Transit Agency, Chairman of the Southwest Riverside County Communities Financing Authority; Director, Riverside County Conservation Agency, and member, California League of Cities.  Council Member Edwards was nominated for the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award in 2013 and 2014. She was named the Woman of Merit by the North County Times, received the Citizen of the Year award from Temecula Valley Kiwanis International and was named Temecula’s Citizen of the Year in 1998 and 1999. She attended the University of Nevada, Reno and received her California School Boards Association (CSBA) Masters in Governance. Council Member Edwards is currently employed by the State Senate and serves as Southwest District Director for Senator Jeff Stone.  Council Member Edwards is a Board Member of the CSUSM Foundation Board and serves on the Executive and Marketing Committees.  She is married to Dr. Thomas Edwards.
