Charlie Coradino is Vice President-Tax Planning and Compliance for Liquid Investments, a Private Equity Investment Group, and was formerly a shareholder and Managing Director of Coradino Hickey & Hanson, a CPA Corporation, since 1976. His current responsibilities with Liquid Investments include tax planning and compliance for the firm and its principal on a variety of the firm’s investments in private equity entities. His former firm merged with Redwitz & Co in 2005. As a Director of Redwitz & Co., his primary responsibilities, involved working closely with a diverse clientele assisting them in increasing their business and personal wealth through personal service and close attention to proactive planning.
With over forty-two years experience as a Certified Public Accountant practicing originally in his hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and since 1973 here in California, Charlie has extensive experience in a wide variety of businesses and high net worth individuals. He has assisted in planning and structuring the acquisition and disposition of businesses and real estate investments. He has been involved in negotiating, structuring and securing multi-million dollar lines of credit from a variety of financial sources. He has also assisted in evaluating, recruiting and selecting accounting and management personnel. He has worked closely with a number of trustees advising them on fiduciary accounting and tax planning for both taxable and tax exempt trusts and private foundations. He worked with a number of high net worth individuals assisting them in income, estate and gift tax planning as well as structuring their personal wealth in such a way as to minimize their overall family tax liabilities.
Charlie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting from Temple University. He was certified in Public Accounting by the State of California in 1974 and by his native state of Pennsylvania in 1972. He has been an instructor of Business Taxation with the UCSD Extension and has previously shared his professional expertise as a visiting auditing instructor at the University of San Diego, an accounting instructor at Grossmont Community College, and as an instructor of The In-Bank Training Program for the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He also belongs to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the California Society of Certified Accountants.
Charlie's civic affiliations have included the San Dieguito Boys and Girls Club, the Del Mar, Solana Beach and Carlsbad Chambers of Commerce, the North Coast Repertory Theatre and the La Jolla Cancer Research Foundation. He is currently a member of the board of directors of the American Heart Association-San Diego Chapter, and also the Little Italy Association and is on the Finance Committee of California State University San Marcos. His favorite hobbies are traveling, running, snow skiing and cycling. He lives in Del Mar with his wife, Noreen. Their son, Anthony Michael is a graduate of Santa Clara University and is currently a senior business analyst with ORACLE Corporation at their global headquarters in Redwood Shores California.
