Mayor Pro Tem, City of Temecula
Maryann Edwards has sat on the City of Temecula’s city council since 2005. During her tenure at the City, Mayor Pro Tem Edwards has worked hard to improve the quality of life for all Temecula residents, playing an integral role in the 2008 opening of CSUSM’s Temecula campus. Previously, Mayor Pro Tem Edwards served as a Governing Board Member of the Temecula Valley Unified School District from 2001 to 2005. Among her many public and community service commitments, she presently holds the positions of chairwoman, Southwest Riverside County Communities Financing Authority; director, Riverside County Conservation Agency; director, Riverside County Habitat Conservation Authority, and member, California League of Cities. Mayor Pro Tem Edwards received the 2002 Citizen of the Year award from Temecula Valley Kiwanis International as well as the 2000 Woman of Merit Award from the North County Times and the 1998 and 1999 Temecula Good Neighbor of the Year Award. She received her California School Boards Association (CSBA), Masters in Governance from the University of Nevada, Reno.
