Microsoft software is made available to you because CSUSM
has purchased license coverage for the software through
Microsoft Campus Agreement Subscription effective January
1, 2005 through December 31, 2007. CSUSM is extending
to you the right to use the software for Campus-related
purposes at home. You are not licensed
to use the software at home for personal purposes.
You do not own the license or the CDs, rather you are
authorized to use the Software and associated media pursuant
to the terms and conditions of the license(s) granted
to CSUSM for the term of CSUSM’s Campus Agreement
Subscription. You will be required to remove the software
from your home machine immediately upon the earlier of
(a) any event which causes you no longer to be a faculty
or staff member or employee of the institution for any
reason or (b) expiration of the Campus Agreement Subscription
term.
The Campus Agreement provides the licensing of specific
Microsoft desktop applications, server technologies and
Client Access Licensing to faculty and staff members of
the CSU. Along with the licensing, the CSU also receives
Microsoft Software Assurance which covers the products
for any new releases that come out during the three-year
term of the contract. Work at Home provisions are also
included in the Campus Agreement for faculty and staff.
The desktop products that have been licensed are:
• Office Pro All Languages with Software Assurance
• Windows Professional Operating System All Languages
with Software Assurance
• Front Page All Languages with Software Assurance
• Publisher All Languages with Software Assurance
• VStudio .NET Pro All Languages with Software

Can I install the Microsoft programs on
my home computer?
Under the Agreement's Work at Home rights, university
employees may install one copy of the covered programs
on a home computer provided the employee is the primary
user of that computer, and such copy must be used for
work-related purposes. You are
not licensed to use the software at home for personal
purposes.
• CD’s for Work at Home installations
are special CD’s. These CD's may not be duplicated
and they come with their own installation key codes.
• The Microsoft
Campus Agreement Form must be signed by the faculty
and staff when receiving a Work at Home use CD.
