Nursing Information Sessions

If you completed your actual LVN and/or RN Nursing Courses at an institution which was not WASC accredited (or other regional affiliate) at the time you took your courses, OR your LVN to RN coursework does not appear on a college/university transcript from a regionally-accredited institution, you are currently not eligible for our respective LVN to BSN or RN to BSN programs. You would either be required to start over in our three-year Generic/Basic BSN program, or we are currently exploring exam options to allow such students to test and receive Credit by Exam.  At this time, we don't have further information available about a possible exam, but will update our Nursing Web site if this option becomes available.
For information on the LVN to RN 30-unit Option, please visit the Nursing Programs Web site.  We don't have any further details about this program available at this time.  Our Nursing Web site will be updated as new information becomes available.

The following Information Sessions will provide an overview of School of Nursing programs offered at Cal State San Marcos (Generic/Basic BSN and LVN to BSN Programs) and will include adequate time for questions and answers with our Nursing Advisors.  These sessions are optional and are intended for prospective students who live within driving distance and have questions about any of our upcoming Nursing Programs. Reservations are required; please call the School of Nursing at 760-750-7550.  If you should receive the recording, please carefully speak your full name and leave a phone number for us to return your call

Handouts will not be provided at our Info Sessions.  Please print out any of the following handouts to bring with you, or to refer to after our session:

Directions to SMCC Building (San Marcos Care Center), Suite 201 -- Location of our School of Nursing--  This building is on the edge of campus and is located on the northwest corner of S. Twin Oaks Valley Road and Craven Rd. The building has a large "P" on the top of a tower, located at the corner of these two intersecting streets.  There is plenty of free parking right outside this building. You do NOT need to purchase a parking permit to park in the lot right outside this building. We are located on the second floor, right off the stairs and elevator.  If you are attending an Info Session during the daytime, please park in the outer areas of the parking lot, as the closer spaces need to be free for the patients of other doctor's offices in our building. If you park in one of the parking lots on campus, you will need to purchase a short-term parking permit.
Directions to Markstein Hall --   This is our new Business Building on campus and is located southeast of Palm Court, between Academic Hall and University Hall.  This building is so new that it has not been added to the University campus maps.  The closest parking lot is a new lot located east of the Foundations Building, also not shown yet on the University campus map.
Directions to Kellogg Library  --  From PARKING LOT B or C on Craven Road -- approach the library at the street level, off of the Craven Road Circle.  Do NOT enter the library, but instead take the elevator or stairs, located to the right of the library entrance, down to the first floor.

Directions to University Hall  -- From PARKING LOT B or C on Craven Road- walk past Craven Hall, then go up the stairs to University Hall.  You will be on the 1st floor level of University Hall. For elevator access from Craven Drive up to the first floor of University Hall, use the elevators inside the Library (exit on the 3rd floor within the Library).

Directions to Academic Hall --   From PARKING LOT B or C on Craven Road, enter Craven Hall and exit on the 5th floor.  As you exit the main elevators from the middle of Craven Hall, go left down the hallway and exit out the first set of doors to the outside.  Continue walking towards the right, around the outside of the building.  You will then enter the outdoor Founders Plaza.  Academic Hall will be to your left as you enter the plaza.  There are stairs or elevators at either end of the building.  At this point you are on the 2nd level of Academic Hall.
Directions to Science Hall II --  From PARKING LOT N (be sure to park in the Student Area only of this parking lot) off of Campus Way, from Barham Drive, requires walking up four flights of stairs to the Cesar Chavez statue at the top of the stairs.  From there, go left towards Science Hall II.  Take the breezeway entrance, on the left, into Science Hall II.  You will be entering the building on the 2nd floor of Science Hall II.  Form PARKING LOT B OR C on Craven Road, take the elevator in the Library up to the 3rd floor.  Exit the library and veer left.  You will walk past the Arts Building and the bronze Cesar Chavez statue.  As you approach Science Hall II, take the breezeway entrance, on the left, into Science Hall II.  You will be entering the building on the 2nd floor of Science Hall II.
Directions to Commons -- From PARKING LOT B or C on Craven Road, enter Craven Hall and exit on the 5th floor.  As you exit the main elevators from the middle of Craven Hall, do left down the hallway and exit out the first set of doors to the outside.  Continue walking towards the right, around the outside of the building.  This leads you to Founders Plaza.  Walk towards the right and Commons 206 will be the first room/building that you'll see.
