Reuben Omweri Mekenye
Associate Professor

Dr. Mekenye earned a bachelor's degree in history, English, and education from the National University of Lesotho, master's degrees in educational psychology and history at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and a PhD in African history at UCLA.

His doctoral research focused on southern Africa, particularly Lesotho, and the twentieth-century African response to imperialist expansionism, and he is currently studying the activities of an organization in Lesotho and its contribution to Lesotho's independence struggle.

Dr, Mekenye teaches (among other courses) African Nationalism and Independence, Modern Africa, Southern Africa Since 1870, European Imperialism in Africa, and World History.
