About RADD
RADD is the Entertainment Industry's Voice for Road Safety. Our goal is to reduce deaths and injuries across all age groups by increasing road safety awareness and promoting sober driving.
Alcohol related crashes continue to be a leading killer of college-aged young adults. RADD (Recording Artists Against Drunk Driving) has been the leader in developing designated driver and prevention programs to help combat this issue.
In 2009, RADD partnered with UCI Health Education to obtain a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) to continue development of university-based designated driver initiatives.
RADD Grant Objectives 2009-2011
• To work with a minimum of eight California universities to develop and manage the RADD Designated Driver program model, including campus events
• To award eight mini-grants to support this work
• To sponsor two regional trainings annually and provide ongoing technical assistance
• To provide training and support for developing student leadership in traffic safety and prevention of alcohol-related crashes
• To help campuses recruit bars and establishments committed to the RADD designated driver model
CSUSM is one of the Universities that was awarded a grant to help complete these objectives
RADD Rewards Program

Bars and restaurants participating in the RADD Rewards program will provide incentives for designated drivers. These specials can include:
By joining the RADD Rewards program, bars and restaurants benefit from marketing efforts including posters, RADD Rewards cards, and social media.
