The CSU pays the premium for basic term life insurance for certain units as follows:

Accidental Death and Disability Benefits
The CSU pays the premium for basic term accidental death and dismemberment insurance for certain units as follows:

The coverage is provided by Standard Insurance Company.
The CSU pays the premium for long-term disability insurance for Units 1, 3, 4, and MPP. The coverage is provided by Standard Life Insurance Company, replacing 66 2/3% (up to $10,000) of an employee's salary after 180 days of disability. For Unit 6, the long-term disability plan replaces 50% of the first $15,000 (up to $7,500) of an employee's salary until age 65. Long-term insurance coverage is provided by The Standard Life Insurance Company, and there is a 180-day waiting period before the benefit begins.
MEDEX Travel Assist
This program is the newest feature of the CSU basic term life insurance coverage. It was designed to provide important resources, including evacuation services, arrangement of medical and/or legal care while traveling. Additional details of this benefit are outlined in the MEDEX Travel Assist brochure.
