When and How to use Volunteers  

Volunteers give of their time with no expectations of any compensation in return.  Sounds easy enough, however, the management of volunteers can be complex as well as risky.  Come learn what managers and employees need to know prior to engaging the services of a volunteer. 

Absence Management - Open Lab

Come join us in the Absence Management Open Lab.  HREO will be available to all Faculty/Staff and MPP's who would like some hand-on guidance with the new Absence Management reporting system rather than attending the full training sessions.  During this open lab, walk-ins are welcome.

Absence Management - for Staff

This hands-on course will review the new process for entering leave absences in Absence Management – employee self-service.  The review will supplement the user guides and videos available on the Absence Management website.

Absence Management - for MPPs

This hands-on course will review the new process for reviewing and approving absences in Absence Management – Manager Self-Service.  The focus will be on MPP Tasks of reporting, validating, and approving absences for direct reports.  The review will supplement the user guides and demo videos available on the Absence Management website.

Emotional Intelligence

Researchers have discovered that emotional intelligence is twice as important as IQ and cognitive ability combined in determining professional success. Emotional intelligence is the ability to simultaneously manage one’s own emotions and the emotions of others in a way that reduces emotional outbursts and conflict, and creates positive and productive outcomes. This course will guide individuals in the understanding of emotional intelligence and will provide techniques to manage and resolve unwanted emotions in a way that sets them up for future success.

Course will consist of four – 3.5 hour sessions:

January 24, 2013 through February 14, 2013 held on Thursdays.
