What has HSI meant to other CSU campuses?
- In 2002, Cal State Northridge was awarded a five-year, $1.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education HSI program to strengthen library collections and archives and students' information competence.
- In 2004, CSU Dominguez Hills received more than $2 million from the U.S. Department of Education for a grant titled "Enhancing Critical Literacy." This five-year institutional improvement grant aims to enhance reading, writing and critical thinking skills among transfer students.
- CSU Fresno received $199,920 in 2004 to improve the Dairy Science and Technology Program. The grant allows integration of theory with application, leading to improved student learning.
- Cal State Los Angeles received a $90,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture HSI program from fall 1997 to winter 2000 to fund curriculum development, scholarships, educational seminars, recruitment and a remodel of the campus foods lab.
