Engineering is responsible for CSUSM's Banner and PeopleSoft
Administrative Software Systems including : Module coordination,
data integrity, security, software upgrades, contract negotiation,
customization and data warehouse design.
System Development & Software Engineering is comprised

WHAT WE DO
Systems Development and Software Engineering maintains a
wide variety of other software systems for the institution.
In addition to PeopleSoft and Banner Systems Development and
Software Engineering is involved with the following:

Leading the effort to build a CSU PeopleSoft
Student Collaborative.

Implementing DARS for enhanced Academic Advising

LDAP implementation to support centralized
access control and single sign-on.

Oracle support for Academic activities.

Automated student Unix/NT account generation.

Consolidation and creation of an institutional
library of database objects.

The Data Portal: An institution intranet
connecting the Web to an Oracle Database to provide
features such as:

(Administrative) Phone Bill, Budget Transfers,
Software Documentation

(Academic) Class Rosters, Grade Reporting, Student
Advising.

A Bilingual Web/Database search engine for the
Center for the Study of Books in Spanish for Children
and Adolescents collection.
