the CCR exam>

What does the CCR exam cover?
There are four parts
to the CCR exam; Word Processing, Spreadsheets, the Internet, and Ethics &
Viruses.
How can I study for
the exam?
A sample exam and study materials can be found at the CCR web
site (listed below). In addition, study materials are available in the Kellogg
Library at the reserve desk.
How long is the CCR exam?
Most students need two
hours or more to complete the exam. Each of the four sections takes about
30 minutes to complete.
Do I have to take the whole exam at once?
No. The
exam sections may be taken separately.
Is there a time limit?
No. The exam is un-timed
but sections should be finished before the exam closes. No exams are
accepted after the exam closes.
How much does it cost?
There is no fee to take the
exam. The skill sections require printing, so a print card must be purchased
for $1.00 and approximately $1.00 value should be added to the card.
When is it given?
The exam is given through out the
year. The exam schedule is posted on the CCR web site (listed below).
How can I schedule an exam?
No appointment is
needed. Check the CCR web site (listed below) for the exam schedule.
What score do I need to get to pass?
A 75% score or
better is acceptable.
Can I retake the exam?
You can retake the exam as
many times as necessary.
What if I fail sections of the exam, do I have to retake
all parts again?
No. Only the failed section must be retaken.
How soon can I retake an exam section?
At the next
scheduled exam.

Is the written test multiple-choice?
No. The written
test is a short answer exam.
