are a few reminders about the process:
- Using the Internet from home is a great convenience,
but it is also a privilege, and it requires a significant
amount of effort on the home user's part.
- It is neither the school's responsibility nor
its goal to lead home users through every step of
installing dialup software.
- Dialing in requires not only a certain amount
of technical knowledge, but also a level of resourcefulness,
persistence, and general competence with computers.
CSUSM provides some of the technical knowledge in
the form of written instructions, workshops, and
more, but the resourcefulness, persistence, and
competence is your contribution.
We STRONGLY recommend all users to read the Frequently
Asked Questions before calling the Dialup Support
line... most user errors can be corrected by reading
this page.
