Services Available For Users With
Disabilities
Staff Assistance
If you need assistance, the monitors that staff the labs
are available whenever the labs are open. They can assist
in any way that time permits. This assistance includes,
but is not limited to:
- Assistance with copy machine and print card vending
machines.
- Any special needs such as retrieving documents from
the printers and accessing reference or instructional
material related to programs installed on Cal State San
Marcos computers.
Appropriate accommodations will be made for users with
disabilities requiring individualized assistance. Please
call 750-4788 for special needs.
Assistive Devices
Study Room 3404 in the Cal State San Marcos Kellogg Library contains
the following assistive devices:
- Telesensor print enhancer for visually impaired students.
- Reading Edge print scanner & reading/speaking machines.
- JAWS, ZOOMTEXT, Duxbury Braille Translator, & a
Braille Printer.
Lab Access
All computer labs at Cal State San Marcos have physically
accessible stations. In addition to these stations, there
are a variety of programs available in the open access
labs (ACD 202 & Kellogg 2000), including
JAWS and ZoomText for the PCs. Macintosh OS provides
Zoom, Screen Readers, Sticky Keys, and Numerical Keys Mouse
Pad in the Universal Access System Preferences panel. More adaptive material
may be added to the labs as the need arises.
Restrooms: Physically accessible restrooms are available
on every floor of the Academic Hall and the Science Hall
where Instructional Computing Labs are located.
Telephones: A telephone is located in Founder's Square
just south of the Academic Hall that is wheelchair accessible.
A pay telephone with a TDD is available in the vending
area of
the Dome for student use.
In Case of Emergency
In the event of an emergency/evacuation of any IITS Instructional
Computing Lab, students and patrons with disabilities needing
assistance are asked to identify themselves to lab personnel,
so that any assistance necessary can be given.

Student Services in Craven Hall 5115, or call 750-4905
or through TDD at 750-4909.
Parking
Disabled parking spaces are available in the lower part
of the faculty/staff parking lot by the Dome.
