Instructional & Information Technology Services Polices

General Policy
This document serves to summarize Instructional and Information Technology Services (IITS) policies regarding computing resources for faculty, staff, and students. It is the goal of IITS to accommodate the campus community as much as possible with all their computer needs, to the extent that our budget permits.

Public Web Space Policy
This directory was created on the web server at CSUSM to give students and guests a place to store personal web pages. Official CSUSM business belongs in the Campus Wide Info System where it will be tracked, entered into standard menus, backed up to tape regularly and generally maintained with the rest of the CWIS data.

Firewall Policy
Standards governing requests to breach the firewall in order to allow access to internal campus hosts, include a previously undefined application into the internal campus connect a modem to an internal campus host

Computer & Network Security Policy
This document establishes the computer and network security policy for the California State University San Marcos. The computer and network security policy is intended to protect the integrity of campus networks and to mitigate the risks and losses associated with security threats to campus networks and network resources, while striving to maintain the free and open access to technology which is one of the campus' core values.

Student Laptop Checkout & Use Policy
Laptops can only be checked out by CSUSM students, with a valid CSUSM Library card. Please review policy for limits, availability, fines and liability.
