CCR Frequently Asked Questions
What does the CCR exam cover?
There are four parts to the CCR Exam; Word Processing, Spreadsheets, the Internet, and Ethics & Viruses.
How can I study for the exam?
A sample exam and study materials can be found at the CCR web site. In addition, study materials are available at the check-out desk of the Kellogg Library.
How long is the CCR exam?
Most students need two hours or more to complete the exam. Each of the four sections takes about 30 minutes to complete.
Do I have to take the whole exam at once?
No. The exam sections may be taken separately.
Is there a time limit?
Sections must be finished before the exam closes each day. No exams are accepted after the exam closes.
How much does it cost?
There is no fee to take the exam.
When is it given?
The exam is given through out the year. The exam schedule is posted on the CCR web site.
How can I schedule an exam?
Check the CCR web site for the exam schedule.
What score do I need to get to pass?
A 75% score or better is acceptable.
Can I retake the exam?
You can retake the exam as many times as necessary.
What if I fail sections of the exam, do I have to retake all parts again?
No. Only the failed section must be retaken.
How soon can I retake an exam section?
At the next scheduled exam.
Where are the exams given?
Locations are posted on the CCR web site.
Is the written test multiple-choice? The Ethics & Virus section is a multiple-choice exam.
