Accessing Your Student Email
How Do I Get a CSUSM Email Account?
Students must be registered before obtaining a campus email account. All registered CSUSM students receive an email address. If you do not know your email address, please bring a valid picture ID (such as your current Campus ID or Driver's License) to the Student Technology Helpdesk in Kellogg Library, 2nd floor entrance, and someone will assist you.
If you do not know your Campus ID, username, or password, please visit Cougar Central (on the third floor of Craven Hall) or the Student Technology Helpdesk in Kellogg Library, 2nd floor entrance.
Students use a CSUSM username as both their email address and their log-on for campus computers. A student username is composed of the first 5 letters of your last name, followed by three auto-generated digits, then "@cougars.csusm.edu." If your last name has less than 5 letters, then your entire last name will be used, followed by three auto-generated digits. Examples of usernames include email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org, and email@example.com. Students use gmail to read or send email. Click on this link for Frequently Asked Questions about gmail.
Students who do not know their password need to come in person, with a photo ID, to either Cougar Central or the Student Technology Helpdesk.
Enter this address into your internet browser: http://mail.cougars.csusm.edu/. Use your username and password to get to your email.
