myCSUSM Browser Information

If you are using MyCSUSM/Peoplesoft and have issues with a page, some versions of some browsers may not display that page properly.   Below are some helpful hints.   We recommend using the following browsers:

  • Internet Explorer 8 (IE 9 in compatibility mode)
  • Firefox 3.6
  • Safari 4

Internet Explorer

Version Issue

Issue: Fonts prints really small when printing from PeopleSoft.

Solution: Turn off "Enable Shrink-to-fit".

7 Minor issue with scroll bar display in a few cases.  Most pages work well with IE7.

Issue:     Clicking on Student Center will display a message "Browsecap properties file does not exist".

Issue:     Clicking on Student Center will log off immediately  

Solution:   Use Compatibiliy Mode

Click the Compatibility View button in the address bar to make the icon change from an outline outline to a solid color solid.

Firefox

Issue: Fonts prints really small when printing from PeopleSoft.

Solution:   1) Right-click somewhere on desired page.   2)  Select "This Frame > Print Frame".

Issue:   Window for some pages appear very small (e.g. Student Center)

Solution:  Upgrade to newer version of Firefox or use a different browser.

Issue:    Very slow response time, or no response, for some pages, such as Student Center.   
Issue:    Clicking on Student Center will display a message "Browsecap properties file does not exist".

Issue:  Very slow response time for some pages, such as Student Center.  

Solution:  Please wait for first load of 15-20 seconds.   Later viewings of this page will respond normally.  


Safari

Version Issue

Issue: Fonts prints really small when printing from PeopleSoft.

Solution:  
1)  Right-click choose Print Frame. 
2)  Right Click anywhere on page and select "Print Page"

Chrome

Version Issue
