Accessibility and Giving Titles to Your Images

Each of your images will need a title and a description. Doing this will not only help identify the images for your users, but will also give each image the needed accessibility.

The title will appear above the image. It could be something like "Faculty Recieving XYZ Award".

The description will appear below the image. It should be short, but should also describe the image. It will also serve as the accessibilty ALT tag for your image.

Creating a Title and Description

  1. Open your images folder
  2. Click one of the images
  3. Click 'Edit'
  4. Click 'Metadata'
  5. Enter your image title in 'Title'
  6. Enter the description in 'Description'

None of the other metadata fields are used.
  7. Repeat 1-6 for each image in the folder

Congratulations!
If you go back to your gallery page, you will see the titles and descriptions for your images.
