Connect your iOS Devices to Exchange Online

Below are instructions for connecting your iOS devices (i.e. iPhone, iPad) to CSUSM’s Exchange Online.

The instructions below are for users that have been migrated from the old Exchange system (i.e. almost all of campus). Please make sure you follow the instructions in exact order.

If you are a new employee to CSUSM or a lecturer that was migrated from SquirrelMail to Exchange Online, please skip steps 2 and 3.

  1. Go to Settings, ‘Mail, Contacts, Calendars’
  2. Find and touch the CSUSM Exchange Account (e.g. the name could be anything)
  3. Touch ‘Delete Account’ at the bottom
    1. You will return to the ‘Mail, Contacts, Calendars’ screen
  4. Touch ‘Add Account…’
  5. Touch ‘Microsoft Exchange’
  6. In the ‘Email’ box, type in your full email address (e.g. username@csusm.edu)
  7. Leave the ‘Domain’ box empty
  8. In the ‘Username’ box, type in your full email address again (e.g. username@csusm.edu)
  9. In the ‘Password’ box, type in your current CSUSM password
  10.  In the ‘Description’ box, type in whatever you want to call the account (e.g. CSUSM)
  11. Touch the ‘Next’ button on the top right
    1. It will show ‘Verifying’ at the top of the screen
  12.  You will come back to the same screen with the ‘Server’ box filled out for you. (DO NOT CHANGE!!)
    1. If the ‘Server’ box is empty, please type in “pod51010.outlook.com”
  13. Touch the ‘Next’ button on the top right
    1. It will show ‘Verifying’ at the top of the screen
  14. You will now see options for syncing ‘Mail’, ‘Contacts’, ‘Calendars’, and ‘Reminders’
    1. Select your desired settings
  15. Touch the ‘Save’ button on the top right
