IITS is committed to saving power and making efficient use of our server and desktop computers. In 2008, we reduced the number of servers in our datacenter by 22 percent. We also now host 80 of our servers in an energy-efficient virtual environment. On the desktop front, we began the deployment of an advanced power-management solution on all campus PCs that will reduce the power consumption of idle computers.
