IITS is committed to saving power and making efficient use of our server and desktop computers. Since 2008, we’ve made a focused effort to leverage server virtualization and reduce the number of physical servers in our datacenter. Today, more than 160 of our servers (over 40% of our total install base) run in an energy-efficient virtual environment. On the desktop front, we operate a campus-wide advanced power-management solution on all campus PCs that intelligently reduces the power consumption of idle computers.
