Copy/ Move Files

Move pages to a new folder

  1. Click the folder icon or name that contains the file(s) and/or folder(s) you want to move.  This will display the contents of that folder.
  2. Click the check box(es) to the left of the name(s) of the file(s) and/or folder(s) that you want to move.
  3. Select "Move" from the "With Selected:" menu (at the bottom of the content list).
  4. Choose a new "Parent Folder".
    1. Specify a different Parent Folder by clicking the Browse icon or bracketed link.
      1. You will be presented with the Folder List in Cascade.
Note: Don't forget the "History" link on your Choose: Browse navigation bar; this can save you time in selecting a folder you just worked with.
      2. Click the new parent folder to select it.
      3. Click the "Confirm" button to confirm your selection.
  5. Click the "Submit" button.
Note: You will see the results of this move on the "Results of Move action" screen.

Note: Cascade preserves image/file links if you move files/folders in Cascade (you do not need to change hyperlinks to them, or re-insert them as images).

Copy a page

We have seen how using the standard templates helps us save time and improve consistency.  We can take this one step further.

When you have created a page of your own, using the template, you can copy that page to use it as a template.

  1. In your Folder List, click the page that you want to copy, to select it.
  2. Click the "Copy" tab, at the top of your content.
  3. Give your new file a new "system Name."
  4. If desired, choose a new "Parent Folder."
  5. Click the "Submit" button.
If all goes well, you will see your new page (in "View: Layout"), a duplicate of the page you just copied.
  6. Click the "Edit" tab, at the top of the content of this new page and make the needed changes.
