University-wide Survey Committee |

This committee oversees any
university-wide survey of the campus community except
(a) those which fall under the purview of the
Institutional Review Board, or (b) focused surveys
provided to defined population such as course
evaluations or a survey of the members of a particular
committee.

Survey of Student Opinion |
|
The Survey of Student Opinion is an in-class
survey conducted by the IP & A office which solicits
students' opinions on selected campus services.

Freshmen Survey (CIRP) |

The CIRP is
comprehensive Freshman Survey
which has been administered to entering freshmen at Cal
State San Marcos during the summer orientation session
since 1999. The survey is distributed nationally by
the Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA.

The NSSE is an annual
inquiry into the extent to which students at four-year
colleges and universities engage in an array of good
educational practices. |

Each Spring, Cal State San
Marcos faculty, staff and students participate in
several online customer satisfaction surveys.
Departments assessed include Facility Services, Human
Resources, Mail Services, Parking Services, Procurement
Services, Student Financial Services, and University
Police among others. |

an opportunity to
reflect on their experiences at CSUSM; allows the

to asses and promote alumni involvement and connection
with CSUSM; collects information about our alumni which

The
Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) at UCLA has
been mounting a national survey of faculty
characteristics and opinions since 1969. The survey
instrument used is wide-ranging, dealing with issues
such as workload, teaching practices and research
activities, interaction with students and colleagues,
job satisfaction, and campus climate. |
