Investigated the structure and membrane interaction properties of human amylin, a protein thought to play a major role in the pathogenesis of human type II diabetes (laboratory of Dr. Ralf Langen).

Studied the structural and thermodynamic aspects of peptide–membrane interactions. Developed computer programs for the identification and examination of membrane proteins (laboratory of Professor Stephen White).
